Te Korowai Aroha o Aotearoa Logo

Triangle: Land - Papatûânuku - whenua, maunga.
Circle: Sun - Tamanui-te-râ, birth of a new day (life).

Red: Mauri tangata
Green: Mauri whenua
Blue: Mauri moana / rangi

1. The eye shape in the centre of the triangle symbolizes the re-awakening of the tîpuna mind.

2. The red symbol behind the eye is the Moko-Kauae, the women's moko with the double imagery of a Korowai opening, not dominating the image but walking quietly in the shadows. It also symbolizes Hine Waioranui the champion and keeper of all waters, the water of life and the two waters of the spirit, she also tramples on evil

3. The double imagery of the circle and specifically the red symbolizes the tail feathers of the highly prized Amokura bird, which links Te Korowai Aroha to the flight of the Amokura and the return of something very rare.
